Empowering New Yorkers with kidney disease through advocacy,
education and peer support.
The Kidney Coalition of NYC is a non-profit organization created by people with kidney disease for people with kidney disease. Through our programs, services and special events, we educate, advocate and raises awareness throughout the community.
KCNYC is unique. Why?
We understand that the steps in your health and life journey are yours, everyone copes differently but we do walk the same path and understand that sometimes it helps just knowing you're not alone.
KCNYC offers a variety of virtual and in-person activities highlighting peer-support, education and training, clubs and contests.
Fully operated by volunteers who have CKD or who have been impacted by CKD gives our staff a deeper understanding, a desire to make a difference, determination to one day find a cure and the passion to help and advocate for people with kidney disease, donors and their families is what makes us an award-winning non-profit organization/charity.
Simply put its people with kidney disease taking care of people with kidney disease.
We provide a community of learning, support and healing for people with kidney disease, kidney donors, caregivers and their families. Our programs, activities and events help our clients be proactive in their healthcare journey, connect with others in the CKD community and beyond. Through these virtual support groups, workshops, showcases, community projects and special events we raise awareness about CKD. The programs and activities of the KCNYC encourages prevention, advocacy, research, support and education so one day a cure for CKD can happen.
Our team members share determination, experience and passion about helping others with CKD because we all live with this disease or our loved ones have been impacted by it.
We understand the journey, the navigation and the struggles because we are living with chronic kidney disease too.
Programs are open to residents of New York State.
Please
“…walk on, with hope in your heart
and you'll never walk alone
you’ll never, Ever walk alone…”

WHAT IS KIDNEY DISEASE?
Kidney disease is a condition in which the kidneys are damaged and can no longer adequately filter blood.
There are five stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
There is no cure for CKD.
Dialysis and kidney transplant are treatment options.
KCNYC programs provide help for people of all ages who have CKD and live in New York, on dialysis, transplant recipients, donors and their families.
We offer peer support, online support groups, concerts, workshops, clubs and contests.
Our goal with all of our programs is education, prevention and advocacy for the whole community. For our members we help them realize they are not alone and help them in their healthcare journey when needed.
Events and activities make up the majority of our awareness efforts. Outreach within the CKD community and beyond is important in the fight against chronic kidney disease and maybe one day find a cure.
From awareness concerts, craft clubs and workshops staying active promotes healthy habits and people come to see living a life with CKD is possible.
Florie's Flowers is our program dedicated to children with chronic kidney disease.
Named in honor of our founder's Nanny "Florie" was an inspiration to many. A strong. independent woman, mother of twelve, wife and a kidney warrior.
Our programs are kid-friendly and designed to aid in the process of living with and raising a child with CKD.
FLORIE'S FLOWERS KICK-OFF EVENT will be held this Spring. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for details.
